Osteopathy for babies & children

Gentle osteopathic treatment for toddler

Sometimes our children are not as settled as we feel they could be. Children can have back pain or an injury just like you or me. It's important if your child complains of pain or does not seem well, that you get some advice from a qualified professional, like an osteopath.

Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners, whose undergraduate training includes paediatrics. Some of us go on to study at a post graduate level. I have post-graduate training in the assessment and treatment of children, from new born into the teenage years. My work is enhanced by my own experience of having a baby with complex needs. Sometimes we work with health visitors, midwives, GP's and in an NHS setting.

We are trained to screen for medical conditions and will tell you if you need to see another health professional such as a doctor, midwife or health visitor.

I may be able to help by establishing the cause of the problem, give you advice on treatment and management, or refer you for further examination if needed.

I can also offer postural advice related to breast feeding and I'm happy to work alongside lactation consultants or other professionals.

Osteopathy for children is very gentle, and relieves the stresses and strains their body may be under.
